Fashion that is alternative, chic, experimental, authentic, dramatic and edgy. Contemporary fashion for men and woman.
JEN MM DSGN is high-end fused with urban wear, inspired by culture, fashion, design, art, music, creativity of all sorts, influences of everyday life and the love and urge for creating. Conveying uniqueness, new look, new style, lifestyle and a new way of thinking by not being a mass production but a limited, sustainable slow fashion brand. Each piece is unique in itself and therefore each garment is exclusive and limited.
BEHIND THE NAME
The Designer, an italian girl, born and raised in NRW, North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany.
From an early age she showed a passion for creating and drawing. This passion lies in the families DNA. Her grandmother in Sardinia had a love for sewing and tailoring for the whole family and friends.
She attended the AMD Academy for Fashion and Design in Düsseldorf. During Fashion Design study she improved her skills, creating and developing a design concept and showed a lot of passion and determination. Meanwhile she did presentations and presented her collections and works on the runway, amongst which in 2011 and 2012 won twice the „Fresenius New Talent Award 2011 in Fashion Design (B.A.)“ and the year after the „Fresenius New Talent Award 2012 Fashion Design (B.A.)“.
After her work experience in Düsseldorf and London, she decided to start a label from scratch.
In 2015 she opened her first online store | JEN MM DSGN | together with her AW collection „UMBRA | SUMUS-We are shadows“ .
SUSTAINABILITY AND SLOW FASHION
JENMMDSGN are contemporary, alternative and original fashion pieces. It celebrates the contemporary, the individual look and the uniqueness.
The DNA of the products lies in the design and development of the individual pieces. Each garment is developed and manufactured by the Italian designer. Because they’re not a mass production, but they’re all produced by the Designer herself, each garment has a limited availability. As long as there is material, one design is longer on stock than other products. In the studio she works from the mood, to the development of the designs as well as producing every piece on her own. When it comes to shooting a collection or just a piece or a video clip, it is also her with a little team that stands behind the camera. Buying and wearing a garment, feels and knows that it`s made with love and passion. Every garment is well thought through in every detail and every single stitch. Each garment is therefore unique and limited.
The garments and products range from womenswear to menswear, accessories to unisex, all handmade and more projects.
The inspiration comes from everyday life, beauty to oddness, culture, fashion, art, design, music and creativity of all sorts. Inspiration can’t just be seen in one only thing. You can get inspired everywhere, anytime, always.
ZERO WASTE
All fabrics are chosen and measured exactly the initial amount needed. Each pattern is placed as precisely as possible to avoid any excess residual waste. Each remaining fabric for instance will be used for the production of more products if the design made in the same fabric or kept for future garments and collections. Nothing will be thrown away. Each single piece will be used.
